If you’re wondering how AI tools can help you with your blogging chores, then get ready because there’s a long list of things that they can do to help you.
These nifty helpers can assist you in brainstorming, content creation, graphics design, and even proofreading, saving you precious time and helping you create content that truly shines.
Here are just some of the benefits of using AI for blogging:
Time-Saving
This is a huge one because AI can help you automate tasks, such as generating blog post ideas, outlines and even drafts of entire blog posts.
This frees up your time so you can focus on other aspects of your blog, such as customising your content and promoting your work.
Improve Content Quality
AI can help you improve the quality of your blog content by proofreading your work and suggesting improvements.
This can help you avoid errors and typos, and make sure your content is clear and concise. It can even help you identify content gaps so that you don’t miss important aspects of your blog post topic.
Generate Unique Imagery
AI can create epically stunning imagery of anything you can think of which allows you to add truly unique graphics to your content.
Reach A Wider Audience
AI can help you reach a wider audience by generating content that is relevant to your target audience. This can help you attract more readers and boost your blog traffic.
So, if you’re looking for ways to improve your blog content and propel your productivity into overdrive, then I encourage you to check out these free AI tools which can be a valuable asset for any blogger.
ChatGPT
Let’s kick things off with a tool that’s as versatile as it is helpful and that’s ChatGPT! I mean let’s face it, you can’t talk about AI without mentioning ChatGPT, it is one of the most well-known after all.
If you often find yourself staring at a blank screen, unsure of what to write about next, then ChatGPT is about to become your new best friend very quickly.
It can help you brainstorm and come up with a serious amount of content ideas. You can simply toss in a topic, and voila, it’ll generate ideas, outline content, and even help you draft your entire blog posts.
A Tool For Every Blogging Chore
But that’s not all, it can help you with pretty much every aspect of your blogging journey including:
- Topic ideas and blog post ideas.
- Blog post outlines and entire blog post drafts.
- Blog Post Headings, Titles and Meta Description.
- Keyword research, SEO, competitor analysis and content gaps.
- Social media posts including Tweets and Pinterest Pins.
- Email campaigns and comments.
- Topic clusters, content calendars, domain names and YouTube scripts.
ChatGPT can also assist with fine-tuning your writing style, providing suggestions for sentence structure, word choice, clarity and more. And the best part? ChatGPT is user-friendly and completely free to use.
Yes, there is a paid version that has some extra features but the free version can do everything listed above and there are no monthly word/character limits so it is actually unlimited uses and completely free.
It’s an invaluable tool for boosting your productivity and creativity. So, the next time you’re feeling stuck or need a little writing magic, ChatGPT can step in and lend you a digital hand.
If you want to learn more about ChatGPT and how to use it, check out my previous post which covers everything ChatGPT including some prompt examples.
Google Bard (Gemini) AI
The next free tool on the list is Google Bard (Gemini) AI which is Google’s equivalent to ChatGPT. Much like ChatGPT, Google Bard AI is completely free to use with unlimited uses.
It’s almost identical to ChatGPT in that it can do pretty much all the same tasks as its Microsoft-backed competitor including brainstorming, blog post outlines, entire blog post drafts, etc.
In the past, Bard was considered the better research tool and ChatGPT was considered the better creative writer, however, Bard has improved with its imagination and creativity and now both tools come pretty close when compared.
Where ChatGPT would be quite sassy and fun, Google Bard AI was always a little more serious and to the point. It also lacked ChatGPT’s humour and would often sound dry and bland with its responses.
However, it’s now a very different tool can create content just as imaginative and fun as ChatGPT, in fact sometimes even better.
Combining Tools For Different Results
I’ve often used both tools simultaneously with the same prompts to get different ideas and inspiration and the combination of both can be really helpful when drafting blog posts.
The only disadvantage is that it’s not available yet in every single country although it is getting there.
If Google Bard is available in your country, then definitely give it a try to see what it can do and even if it’s not, you could always use a VPN in the meantime to check it out.
For a full tutorial on how to use Google Bard, check out my full post here.
Canva AI Tools
Yes, even Canva have jumped on the AI bandwagon and added a whole heap of AI tools to their platform to help you with your creative design journey.
The only difference between Canva and every other tool on this list is that not all of Canva’s AI tools are free to use.
Still, I’m including it here because some of them are (for now at least while they’re in beta) and they’re seriously helpful tools for many of your blogging needs.
The first Canva AI tool is Magic Edit which lets you replace objects within an image or add new extra objects to an image so it’s a great way to customise images to make them more unique.
There’s also Magic Design which will create numerous templates based on the image that you upload using the Magic Design tool.
It will give you a selection of designs from social media posts to posters and more which you can then customise even further within the Canva editor.
The next free Canva AI tool is Beat Sync which lets you manually sync audio with your video creations so that the beat matches your video flow perfectly. There is also an automatic sync option but that’s a Canva Pro (paid) tool.
Even The Pro Tools Have Some Limited Uses
There are a few other Canva Pro AI tools that you can actually try out as a free user although you only get a limited number of uses.
Still, seeing as they’re there for free to try out, you might as well use them up, right? They include:
- Text To Image – Image Generating Tool – 50 free uses (each use generates 4 image choices)
- Magic Write – AI Writing Tool – 25 free uses
- Translate – Translation Tool – 50 free pages
- D-ID AI Presenters – Creates An AI Presenter For Your Videos – 20 free credits (1 credit = 15 seconds of video)
Canva has always been a great place for all your design needs but now with the addition of its AI tools, it’s even better so if you’re not already using Canva for all your designs then it’s definitely a platform you need to check out.

Playground AI Image Generator
Now, to be fair, I’m actually playing around with several free AI image generator tools at the moment but the reason why I’m listing this one is because it’s the most unlimited (well almost) one I’ve found so far that allows commercial use.
Yes, there are daily limits (I know, I said unlimited uses at the beginning of this post) but that daily limit is 500 images per day!
Now, I don’t know about you but I’d find it pretty hard to exceed 500 images a day even if I tried so in my eyes, it might as well be unlimited.
The AI Image Generator tools are actually my favourite tools on this list because they basically let you create images out of thin air. You only need to describe the image you’d like to create and these tools will design it for you.
An Awesome AI Text To Image Tool
So basically what you’re working with here are text-to-image tools that will literally turn your text into a vibrant image and they’re pretty awesome at doing it.
This means that you no longer need to spend all that time searching for the right images for your blog posts.
You can simply type in a description of the image you need and viola, there it is created in seconds. As an example, this is what Playground AI produced when I asked for “A sparkly diamond dragon”.
With Playground AI, you can choose to generate 1 to 4 images at a time which you can then customise with several different filters if you want to change the style of the image.
You can also remove backgrounds, remove objects within the image or edit small areas of the image individually.
There’s even an image to image tool where you can draw or upload another image for inspiration.
As I said, these AI image generator tools are my favourite and they’re a lot of fun to use. And of course, you’re creating some seriously epic images for your blog posts while you’re at it.
If you’d like to learn how to use Playground AI then here’s my full step-by-step tutorial on it.
Microsoft Designer
Microsoft Designer is a little bit like Canva just with not as many features (at least not yet).
However, it doesn’t necessarily need them because it does things a little differently. It’s actually helped me create some of my best blog post featured images to date.
The best way to describe it is a combination of Canva’s text to image tool combined with its Magic Design tool mixed in with its editing features.
But unlike Canva’s Magic Design tool, which bases its design ideas on the image you’ve uploaded, Microsoft Designer is prompt-based which means you describe the type of design you’d like to see.
Upload An Image Or Let AI Generate One For You
And as well as being able to upload an image for your design, you can also generate images too. Here’s one of the images it came back with when I asked for the sparkly diamond dragon again.
I then used this same generated image and asked for a blog post featured image with the headline “How To Bedazzle Your Dragon” and this is one of the results it came back with.
It gives 15 different results and if you don’t like any of them, you can simply click generate again to get 15 new results.
It will also give prompt ideas and suggestions as you type and you can fully customise the size of the generated images and ideas.
You can choose from various social media sizes to your own custom sizes and you can edit the colours, text, fonts, etc. You can also reposition, resize or delete elements within the designs it generates.
By the way, that snippet of text that says “A Guide To Making Your Dragon Stand Out” wasn’t me. That was generated by Microsoft Designer all on its own which I thought was pretty cool.
Microsoft Designer is currently free to use with no limits however it’s a fairly new tool so whether or not it remains free is another story.
Grammarly
And last but not least, the grammar and spell-checking tool, Grammarly which no blogger should be without.
Regardless of how thorough you think you’ve been with your proofreading, the chances are that you’ve missed something somewhere.
A no instead of a know, a your instead of a you’re or even a full stop instead of a question mark, it’s pretty easy to miss to odd typo especially if you’re writing long-form content.
Easy Spelling And Grammar Correction In An Instant
This is where a tool like Grammarly can come to the rescue because it will spot spelling mistakes, typos and grammatical errors instantly and sometimes it will even auto-correct as you type.
With its AI-powered features, Grammarly can become a trusted digital ally ensuring that your message is clear, concise, and error-free.
The basic Grammarly is completely free and can be used across all your writing platforms and although there is a premium version for more thorough grammar corrections, the free version is pretty adequate for most bloggers.
Let’s Get Creative With Some AI Tools
AI tools are quickly becoming a popular addition to many blogger’s arsenals and once you realise how powerful and helpful they truly are, you’ll quickly understand why.
From the versatile ChatGPT to the visual finesse of Microsoft Designer, these tools will literally revolutionise your blogging instantly.
So, if you’re ready to supercharge your blogging journey, then have a go with the tools above. You’ll honestly wonder how you ever got by without them.
I hope you have fun playing around with these tools and as always, please feel free to share your AI Tool stories and experiences in the comments below. I’d love to hear all about them.
